Welcome to Orthodox Social Outreach! This web-site was created to provide an INTERNET based resource gathering site. Many parishes in the Greek Archdiocese of America (www.goarch.org) have web-sites and on those web-sites they list parish ministries. While many of these ministries are extremely helpful to not only the local community but the community at large, it is the purpose of this sight to display and shine light on strictly “outreach” ministries, happening on a local level.
This site is here to provide internet-based resources. This means that it will garner its resources based on what is listed on each church’s web-site. This way, any orthodox christian who is using the internet can search for a ministry that might be pertinent to them, and have online access to where this ministry exists, who is doing it, and what areas of the country have these ministries available.
Any Orthodox church can be a source of the grace Christ in your life, and can be a haven and home for anyone and anyone willing to be part of a Christian community which follows the Traditions of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. That being said, you will see on this site that any church which has a web-site will be listed here. (for further information on parishes in the Greek Archdiocese please click here)
A person who needs to find a specific ministry that pertains to their life situation, or a person looking for a community that has a need for a certain skill-set, or someone just looking for an Orthodox Christian worship experience and family, will find that this site is categorized in those exact categories. One should be able to use the tags section in order to search by city or state. They should also be able to use the categories section if they want to search by ministry (or topic). Of course, the search function can search any particular query someone might have, but is also useful to search a particular church you may have heard of or know of.
If you have any questions as to how to navigate this site please do not hesitate to ask!
